Serina Rose

An architect by background, Serina now describes herself as a "happy allrounder", and it fits. She is equally at home across the breadth of topics a project throws up and the specialists who own each of them, and what she enjoys most is finding the roadblocks and pulling the right people together to work a way through.

Since joining RCP's Christchurch team in 2021 she has worked on the new Dunedin Hospital, first as early contractor involvement lead and more recently as design management lead, two roles at the front end of a project where the important calls get made. It is the end of the work she does best, getting the setup right before problems have a chance to compound.

Her management style is flexible, shifting between decisive manager and quieter leader as the situation calls for it, and she has a clear read on where the work is getting harder. As the market grows more complex, she argues, clients find it harder to stay nimble and make decisions at pace, which makes getting the front end right early more important than ever.

She places real value on the relationships she has built across Christchurch and the wider South Island, in an industry that gets smaller the further south you go.
