Kate Crossling

Kate works across commercial property, from workplaces and offices to hotels and mixed-use developments. Much of her work is transformation, taking an existing building and reworking it into something new, and she has built real depth in the coordination that takes.

Much of her career has been spent reshaping downtown Auckland. She worked on Commercial Bay and led the redevelopment of 1 Queen Street, the former HSBC building. She managed the design, procurement and delivery that turned it into a mixed-use landmark, with the InterContinental Hotel and the Deloitte Centre office tower woven into one. A structural engineer who trained in Edinburgh, she brings a technical eye to that coordination. "I'm committed to getting things done. I think this, coupled with an ability to adapt, has been instrumental in the success of my projects."

The through-line is coordination, pulling designers, owners, tenants and consultants toward one commercial outcome. She now brings that to early-stage development, including the Downtown West project on the Downtown Carpark site, where she has worked on feasibility, strategy and tenant negotiations well before construction begins.
