Josh Harris

Josh treats no two projects the same. He is a Chartered Civil Engineer, but the part he trades on is reading what a client actually wants, and the level of risk they are willing to carry. "Success comes from understanding people's perspectives, especially their views on risk. It's not just about throwing the textbook at a situation but interpreting it through their eyes. That's how you build trust and deliver tangible results."

That instinct sits on serious technical grounding. Josh qualified with the Institution of Civil Engineers in London and built his early career on major marine, coastal and flood infrastructure across the UK, from large flood-protection schemes to marine works on high-profile regeneration projects. He moved fully into project management, more interested in how a whole project comes together than in the engineering alone, and in guiding a client through it.

He now leads RCP's Bay of Plenty office, where much of his work is in the city's regeneration, including a role as Engineers Representative across the near-$100 million Te Manawataki o Te Papa civic precinct and commercial development on Cameron Road. A good deal of his work is with iwi trusts, delivering developments that align their cultural values and long-term aspirations with the commercial demands of a project.
