Strategy

For Jack, engagement is what decides whether a complex project earns public confidence and holds it over time. Technical correctness alone does not determine what is publicly possible, and closing that gap is the work he leads as Head of Strategic Engagement.

He works across infrastructure, environment, culture and community, on projects where scrutiny is high and the impacts are felt over the long term. More than 20 years as an executive in New Zealand and internationally sits behind that, at governance and C-suite level across infrastructure, regeneration and service environments. Before returning to Aotearoa he was an executive lead for a global telecommunications business operating across the Pacific, Asia, the Caribbean and the Americas.

Jack is increasingly active in Canada, advising public sector and infrastructure partners in Indigenous-led environments and applying engagement approaches shaped in Aotearoa, where responsibility is long-term, relational and grounded in cultural intelligence. His approach favours listening and the discipline to engage before decisions harden, and he brings culture into the room as method rather than symbol.

I’m helping to build cultural intelligence and competency across our team to ensure that everyone feels comfortable in this space; it's a journey.
