Simon Gasson

Simon is a Chartered Civil Engineer with an honours degree in mechanical engineering. His early technical career gave him a strong analytical foundation, but it was the strategic decisions that shape project outcomes that pulled him into project management. Understanding why projects move the way they do, and steering them toward better outcomes, has defined his path.

His engineering background lets him hold his own in technical discussions while keeping a clear focus on outcomes and value. That has taken him across New Zealand and the UK on everything from core infrastructure to major public and civic developments, and he is quick to read a new environment, work out how it operates and adapt to what the project and the team need.

He now works mainly in infrastructure with a focus on three waters, supporting delivery across a range of projects and programmes. His strength is bringing structure and clarity to complex environments, sharpening reporting and making sure decisions rest on a clear read of programme status, risk and delivery constraints.

For Simon, a lot rides on setting the right foundations early, building effective teams, establishing clear roles and putting proportionate governance in place. Those early calls are what let a project run smoothly and hold up as it grows in scale and complexity.
