Mike Neill

After close to forty years in construction, very little surprises Mike. He has spent much of that career offshore, in the United Kingdom, Singapore and Australia, working for engineering consultants, mechanical subcontractors and main contractors, and brings that global perspective to the projects he leads at RCP.

His roots are in mechanical engineering, which is part of why he is drawn to big, complex work, and to healthcare above all. He has spent the past fifteen years in the health sector, building the kind of specialist knowledge that only comes from staying with one of the most technical corners of the industry. It was the chance to make a real difference, and to shape these projects from an early stage, that brought him to RCP.

Since then he has helped build RCP's health team and win and deliver some of the country's most significant hospital work. He is part of the delivery team on Te Toka Tumai Auckland's Facility Infrastructure Remediation Programme, and part of the team for the new Dunedin Hospital, the largest hospital rebuild New Zealand has undertaken.

He is clear-eyed about the pressure the sector is under, with public healthcare capital stretched by the demand for new hospitals and upgrades across the country, and is set on playing his part in delivering the infrastructure a thriving health system needs.
