Careers
Michael Boyce
Senior Associate
Before project management, Michael packed two careers into his working life. He spent five years at sea as a ship's officer on oil tankers and container ships, where he learned to plan in fine detail, then came ashore and practised as an architect for almost twenty years.
At RCP he has brought both to bear on project management, and on healthcare in particular. The logistician in him builds detailed, carefully sequenced plans he can still flex when a project shifts, while the architect gives him a deep feel for the design process, so he can help design teams navigate risk and work more productively. He is known for cutting quickly to the core issue and keeping a cool head under pressure.
Much of that work has been in healthcare, and in the live clinical environments of Middlemore Hospital in particular, where he has delivered a series of complex projects with construction going on safely around working wards and clinics.
