Kathryn Collie

Kathryn is a programme manager who came up through the technical side, land surveying and civil engineering, over more than twenty years on large multidisciplinary projects. Her path runs from cadastral surveying in New Zealand to site engineer on the London Underground and back into civil engineering.

From there she moved from technical design into design management, then project and programme management, where the focus is people, process and outcomes rather than the detail of any one project. At RCP she has been embedded in major public sector programmes, including seismic remediation and property consolidation for the New Zealand Institute of Skills and Technology, working across many projects at once to keep them aligned, well governed and collectively delivering.

She is drawn to social infrastructure, where programmes come down to outcomes for communities. For her, successful programmes rest on clear communication, well understood roles and strong reporting lines, getting the right information to the right people at the right time. Her surveying and engineering background lets her hold the bigger picture while understanding the technical and delivery challenges underneath.
