Andrew Timms

Andrew studied commerce and law, and picked up quantity surveying alongside his father, who was in the business. A chance encounter with RCP pointed him toward project management, and he hasn't looked back.

He joined RCP's Christchurch office as a project manager in 2011 and quickly became part of the post-earthquake rebuild, cutting his teeth on projects like the Christchurch Temporary Stadium 100-day build, the New Regent Street reinstatement and the Hagley Oval overlay for the Cricket World Cup. That work built the outside-the-box thinking he still brings to how projects get delivered.

In 2015 he moved to Queenstown, drawn by the mountains, and took on local delivery of a large capital works programme for Queenstown Lakes District Council. He now manages RCP's Southland business as Queenstown Manager, and gravitates to community projects where there is a chance to give back.

That early exposure to construction gives him a natural grasp of the numbers, the stakeholder perspectives and the broader outcomes behind a decision. Those commercial instincts, alongside strong people skills, have helped him build trusted relationships and a well-regarded team in a close-knit provincial market.
